Professor Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is at the University of California Davis. Her name is widely praised as the pioneer of modern research of eyewitness memory in children and utilizing child victims to be legal witnesses. Her publications are numerous She has also received a number of grants and has been the recipient of many honors both national and internationally. She has consulted with numerous government agencies and governments across the globe on policy and research concerning children who are victims of the justice system. She is a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center - formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of several professional associations such as that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families policy and practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman is part of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding member, International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She is the former President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Policy for Children and Families and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
